Spanish Language and Mesoamerican Myths
In this elective, students will explore fantastic ghost stories and larger-than-life legends from Mesoamerica while practicing Spanish.
Most Spanish courses focus on conjugating verbs, rather than on how the language is actually spoken. In this class, we'll build conversational fluency through the art of story-telling. Each week, we will learn vocabulary that’s useful for telling stories, especially scary ones.
For the final course, each student will write an original spooky story in Spanish, or translate a myth or story they love into Spanish.
