Improv Comedy Workshop

Every day we go out into the world, interact with those around us, and encounter new, and sometimes bizarre situations without a script to tell us what to say or a rehearsal to prepare us for the new challenges we may face.  Life is making it up as you go, and in this course, we will follow in the footsteps of some of the most successful writers and actors in Hollywood and use Improv to explore how to use our own instincts to create fun and hilarious scenes on the spot.  

In addition to exploring how to create engaging scenes, we will learn to say “YES” to our own ideas and the ideas of others, explore what makes a compelling character, and try to identify the magical ingredients that make something FUNNY.  We will also focus on developing the confidence and presence to present our ideas proudly and learn to trust our teammates to make us look like rock stars.  The five-week course will culminate in a live-streamed show for family and friends.

For Grades: 5, 6, and 7
